Our Mission Dining Collection
Our Mission
collection pays tribute to a style rooted in the Arts & Crafts Movement
in Europe as well as the traditional furnishings of the American
Southwest. Popularized in the early 1900s, it was both a social reaction
to industrialization and an aesthetic response to Victorian
ornamentation. Mission is characterized by a return to handcrafted
basics, an emphasis on hearth and home, and utilitarian design with a
clean, correct, pronounced geometry. Sturdy, solid oak construction is
the norm, in the finishes you see here; leather often cushions the
chairs. We hope the original principles of “honesty, simplicity, and
usefulness” are reflected in our interpretations of this unmistakable
style.
